Help & contact
Common questions and how to get in touch.
I lost my phone — can I recover my groups?
Yes, if you linked an email from Settings before losing the phone. Install Rihla on the new device, choose the restore option, enter the linked email, and open the one-tap sign-in link on that device. If you never linked an email, ask another group member to share the invite code and join again with a new participant name.
How do I leave a group?
Open the group, tap the settings icon, and choose “Leave group.” Expenses you were part of remain in the group history.
How do I delete a single expense?
Open the expense from the Ledger tab and tap the delete action. Any member of the event can edit or delete a shared expense, and every change is recorded in the group's activity log.
How do I delete all of my data?
See Delete your data.
How are balances calculated?
Rihla uses fixed-point arithmetic (Decimal, three decimal places for Omani Rial) and a greedy minimum-transactions algorithm for settle-up suggestions. Custom-split expenses can divide a cost by shares, exact amounts, or percentages.
Is my data encrypted?
Data in transit uses HTTPS to Firebase. Data at rest is encrypted by Firebase / Google Cloud. Rihla's offline data is held in the Firestore SDK's on-device cache, which is not separately encrypted — it relies on the operating system's full-device encryption.
