Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 May 2026
By installing or using Rihla you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app.
1. The service
Rihla is a mobile application for planning shared trips and splitting expenses with other people. It is provided as-is and free of charge. Features may change or be removed at any time.
2. Your responsibilities
- Do not use Rihla to record fraudulent or illegal activity.
- Do not upload content (receipts, notes, group names) that infringes someone's rights, contains malware, or violates applicable law.
- Respect the other people in your groups. Do not use display names designed to harass or impersonate.
- You are responsible for keeping a backup of any data that matters to you. Because Rihla starts with an anonymous session bound to your device, a lost or wiped device may mean lost group access unless you linked an email for recovery first.
3. No financial guarantees
Rihla helps you track who paid for what. It does not move money, hold money, or act as a payment processor. Any settlements you record are an agreement between you and the other members of your group — Rihla does not enforce them. We do not warrant that calculations are correct for any legal or tax purpose; use them as a convenience, not a source of truth.
4. Anonymous sessions
Rihla does not require sign-up. The session created when you first open the app is tied to that device. You may choose to link an email in Settings so Firebase email-link recovery can restore the same Rihla identity on another device.
5. Termination
You can stop using Rihla at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend access for anyone we reasonably believe is violating these terms or applicable law. We may also discontinue the service entirely with reasonable notice in the app.
6. Disclaimer of warranty
Rihla is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Muscat unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law.
8. Changes
If these terms change materially, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
